Gateway personal answer to Dell Bat Recall.

Thank you for your e-mail. Regarding your concern if Gateway is
affected with the battery issues of Sony, be guided that Gateway has
extensive measures in place to ensure product safety. Based on
available information and our supplier's input, we do not believe our
systems are at risk for the same malfunctions that caused Dell to issue
its battery recall. It appears that a combination of factors led to the
fault requiring the Dell recall, and this combination is not present in
our systems. Gateway notebooks use different battery cells than those
implicated in Dell's recall. We also made different design decisions in
the interest of the customer, which appear to prevent the issues
involved. As always, we continue to be diligent in our efforts to
deliver products that provide industry-leading quality, reliability and
safety.

I hope the information that I have listed was of help.

I have documented this correspondence in Service Request Number

I bought a gateway lapton for $500.00 and I really am happy with it. No
problems. Also I am happy they are building their new plant in tennesee
and not overseas like every other company. Its nice to see an american
company that is actually loyal to america.
